The Kutch District Best Teacher Award Ceremony was organized on 5th September 2025 at Swamibapa Mahila College, Bhuj, under the guidance of the District Education Officer, Kacheri Bhuj. A total of 21 awards were presented during the event — 04 at the district level and 17 at the taluka level. Teachers, head teachers, assistant teachers, CRCs, and BRCs were felicitated. Additionally, 15 students from the Gyan Setu and Gyan Sadhana schemes of Kutch district, who achieved high merit in the state of Gujarat, were honored for excelling in scholarship examinations. The program began with a lamp-lighting ceremony by the dignitaries, followed by a prayer led by Smt. Pragatiben Mehta. The formal welcome address was delivered by District Primary Education Officer Shri B.M. Vaghela. Paying tribute to Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan, he emphasized the importance of celebrating Teachers’ Day to uphold the dignity of the teaching profession. He highlighted projects such as Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam and Vanche Gujarat, while guests were presented with symbolic “Chhod” and “Books” as part of the Swadeshi campaign. All guests were honored with Khadi “Rumalas.”

Chief Guest’s Address:

Kutch District Education Officer Shri Sanjay Parmar recalled how, during natural calamities, teachers had raised significant funds, organized blood donation camps during Navratri pilgrimages, and carried out service initiatives, highlighting their role in social participation. He felicitated state-level topper students for 2024–25 and reviewed board results. He expressed the goal of equipping every school in Kutch with advanced physical facilities such as computer labs, smart classrooms, and modern science laboratories, which would help the district achieve top educational status in Gujarat. He also welcomed state government initiatives like Namo Saraswati and Namo Lakshmi, and appealed to ensure that no student in Kutch is deprived of financial assistance for education.

Other Dignitaries’ Messages:

Shri Virambhai Gadhvi, Chairman of the Education Committee, District Panchayat Kutch, praised the performance of government schools in remote areas, often outperforming private schools. He acknowledged the challenges of teacher shortages in the district and urged permanent solutions through local recruitment.

Mandvi MLA Shri Anirudhbhai Dave congratulated the awardees, calling teachers “diamonds” whose brilliance must be recognized and nurtured. He emphasized that teachers not only impart knowledge but also shape culture, values, and the nation’s future.

Anjar MLA Shri Trikambhai Chhanga recalled the resilience of Kutch during adversities and linked education to both cultural preservation and holistic human development. He highlighted the need for teachers to balance academics with values for all-around growth.

Gandhidham MLA Smt. Maltiben Maheshwari congratulated teachers, affirming that after parents, teachers hold the second most important place in shaping lives.

On this occasion, Shri Rajnikant Makwana and Shri Mukesh Sachde were also honored with the Best Teacher Award, recognized for their compassion and inspiration. Students from Atal Nagar Primary School contributed ₹11,500 as a fund, showing their heartfelt participation in the celebration. The program concluded with a motivating address by District Panchayat President Shri Janak Singh Jadeja, who reminded that every teacher is a nation-builder, responsible not only for education but also for imparting values and culture. He stressed that a balanced approach involving body, mind, and yoga is essential for building a strong and value-based India. The event was coordinated by Smt. Ushmaben Shukla and Smt. Honeyben Rathod, with a vote of thanks delivered by Class-II Acharya Smt. P. Yes, the lady teacher. The program’s success was credited to the dedicated efforts of Class-II teachers, assistant education inspectors, and members of the district education team.
