November 14 is celebrated as World Diabetes Day all over the world. On the same day, Children’s Day is also organized across the country to mark the birthday of India’s first Prime Minister, Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru. Various programs are organized across the country to create awareness about diabetes as part of the unique joint celebration of two important days. 

A special awareness program was also organized by the charitable Inner Wheel Infinity Club in Gandhidham, Kutch. A diabetes awareness seminar was organized by the Inner Wheel Infinity Club at Sadhu Vaswani School in Gandhidham. About 200 students and teachers were present in this public awareness program. Considering the increasing seriousness of diabetes and lifestyle-related diseases in children, this seminar became particularly important. Dr. Renuben Chandani was present as the keynote speaker on this occasion. 

She discussed in detail the main causes of diabetes, wrong lifestyle, improper diet and lack of exercise. Explaining to the students in simple language, he made them understand how important a proper and balanced diet is. He also guided the students about healthy habits that can be adopted in daily life. In the seminar, the children also got their doubts cleared through question-and-answer sessions.

The entire program organized by the club was well-organized under the leadership of the club president, Hansaben Gyanchandanani. Along with this, the enthusiastic cooperation of vice president Kashmiraben Acharya, secretary Mansi Gupta, Manmit Kaur and other members Sunitaben Gor, Miraben Karelia and Seemaben played a major role in the success of the program.

This initiative of Inner Wheel Infinity Club has spread health awareness among the students, and the necessary information has been obtained to prevent serious diseases like diabetes. The club’s resolve to spread the light of health awareness in society through such programs in the coming times is commendable.
